Higher Ground Jetblading

Hey there again,

Here's a sampling of the sharing of cool things I had discussed at the beginning of this blog. I wanted to share with you guys something special I got to do this weekend with Higher Ground Boarding. So Higher Ground Boarding is a team doing both private and group instruction for Jetblading and Wakeboarding in Southern California. I had a blast getting to try out the equipment, get a bit more of the feel of the aparatus, and then fly! The best way to describe it is like being Iron Man. The whole basic idea comes from the idea of a jetpack, but with a Skateboard, Rollerblade sort of a feel.

After strapping the boots on, you push out the modified SeaDoo, then push up and out of the water. It's as if you have two rockets on your feet, that work independently of each other, and can shoot you in the direction you want to go. You point your feet down when they say go and you shoot straight up in the air. Here's a quick video of my second go round after I got a little more of the hang of it.

While I really started to get the hang of it out there, I am by no means a pro, but Emil Nedelcu, and Kenny Freeman were blowing my mind. They seem like they should forever be in the water. They fly around as if they've been doing it their whole lives, and are doing spins, dives, and tricks with modified handles they've added to the apparatus.
