First Blog

Hey Everyone!

I'd like to say thank you for reading this. The wife and I are, finally, taking a day to relax, hang some of our collected artwork, do some housecleaning, and again RELAX. It's been a really crazy year so far and it's only May.

I will be sharing some of those stories here shortly, so hold tight, but I will have a new post very soon. I'd also like to give more of a formal introduction to who I am as a person. My name is Blake Jones, and I've been into art for all of my life. In 2009 I graduated from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Art Photography. I learned a ton from the likes of Dornith Doherty, Brent Phelps, and Paho Mann. I studied all sorts of printing methods from Intaglio Etching Techniques, Screen Printing, Traditional Silver Gelatin Printing, Giclee Printing, Cyanotype, Vandyke, C-Printing, Platinum Printing, and many more. As well as studied Sculpture, Painting, Drawing, Digital Illustration, and many Photoshop techniques.

All of these things pushed me to learn how to appreciate many forms of Artwork. Since I graduated, I hopped around from State to State traveling as much as possible, before deciding I needed to move out of Texas to pursue my dreams of being a working artist. I moved to Los Angeles, and hit the ground running. I dabbled in Film Production starting with a low budget film named Big Ass Spider working as a Set Dresser. I got to work with some of my favorite legendary actors, directors, and had a blast. I learned prop building, set decorating, and many other ins and outs of the film business. I did a few other sets here and there before settling into my current job as Creative Director of Licensed Fine Art for Acme Archives Ltd. We are the top producers of licensed fine art for the global demand. We exhibit in fine art galleries across the globe, and work with some of the top Entertainment Studios around. I direct Illustrators and Painters from all walks of life from Animation Directors, Matte Painters, and Career Artists. We work on all of your favorite Pop Culture Movies, and Cult Classics to interpret those into wall hangings to enjoy for all time.

I will be posting again soon to let you know more about my journey, hope you will come back and check in from time to time.

Thank you again for reading this
